Michael Scurlock, longtime local Dallas Columbia Records Rep, passed away early today (June 27, 2011) after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.
Michael was one of the nicest people any of us in radio who dealt with the record companies ever dealt with.
He was honest, true, genuine, and not only very good at what he did, he was a great friend to many of us in the biz.
In an arena that often included hype, double standards, and questionable tactics, Michael was none of that!
If he told you something was going to happen, it happened. If he couldn't make it happen, he'd just say it, and his integrity was unprecedented.
