Michael

Quick get all of the Michael Jackson songs into the computer for an MJ weekend! Most stations don’t play many of his songs, (if at all) Sooooooo WHY are they rushing to play them NOW!!!! Listen to us... We're Playing Michael Jackson. Playing his songs now shows disrespect. Did any of them play his music when it was his birthday?! Get Madonna, Mariah Carey and everyone else in there, they will be dead sometime too! How about the Bee Gees, there are only two brothers left why wait till they're all gone!

Man, some people are never happy. If radio stations weren't playing any Michael, it'd be "just another reason radio is cheap and sucks. They can't even pay tribute to a deceased artist."

I'm very critical of corporate radio, but I actually find it kind of warming to hear so many stations playing him and taking live phone ins from the public. THIS IS WHAT RADIO IS ABOUT FOLKS! We haven't seen something like this since Lennon or Elvis died. This is history. Be happy that even the Scrooges that Clear Channel, Greater Media, Citadel, etc. are, that they at least have a flicker of a heart and are doing nice things for Michael.

Just my two cents. Take it or leave it.

I can guarantee some radio stations played his music on his birthday. His music has been around for 40 years worldwide...his relationship with radio was mutually beneficial for the majority of that time. His influence on music is heard on the radio, on a daily basis...

Billy Joel said it best. "And I know the game, you'll forget my name if I don't stay on the charts."

And as Kansas said - "Dust in the wind, all we are is dust in the wind."

This is Michael's last great radio play. I may not have been a great fan of him, but I can't deny he was a fantastic musician and dancer.

If it may be hypocritical to overplay his music now in death, it is a fitting tribute to a man who dominated the music industry in the 80's and early 90's.

up to hearing about his passing luckly i got to play michael on WMUH! 2am friday morning june 26 09 i featured the "thriller" album thanks to the cleaning guy that found it! then i played "i'll be there","i wanna be where you are" and "one day in your life".i'm sure other broadcasters there have played and will be playing MJ tunes.i will have a full salute to michael and the jackson 5/jacksons on my next show sometime in july.plus great lp cuts from the J5 years will give a spin too.lot's from the 1971 package "maybe tomorrow"!

When Michael was 11 he acted like a 50 year old.

When he was 50 he acted like an 11 year old.

It is amazing that those doctors placed those drugs in him. They were doctors, not junkies. They need to have their licenses taken away. A life gone due to "legal" drugs.

Don't forget to play some of his music on JRH for the people in Easton and Pburg.

as soon as i get the ok to return to JRH i will do almost the same salute show.thanks for asking!
BTW i was en route to allentown thursday evening when news broke on michael's passing.yes i am a major Jackson 5ive/jacksons & MJ fan and always will be! r.i.p king of pop.

At some point, one needs to be responsible for one's own behavior. I don't blame the doctors for what Michael did to himself. He had been trying to kill himself for years! I'm reminded of Elvis' last few years here. MJ apparently "doctor shopped." If one doctor wouldn't give him what he wanted, he would just find another one who would. And apparently, the doctors who would give him what he wanted, apparently did so without checking his medical history. Evidently, Michael just simply "blew off" anyone who tried to warn him that he was slowly killing himself! It's evident that he ignored anyone who tried to give him advice, and instead surrounded himself with "yes men" who were only after him for his money!

I don't remember him acting like he was 50 when he was 11, but I certainly remember him acting like an 11-year-old at age 50!
