MICHAELS RETURNS TO DIFFERENT KWFM

From the Tucson Weekly:

Longtime radio personality Alan Michaels has accepted the position of operations manager at KWFM AM 1330.

Michaels, a winner of the American Advertising Federation Tucson's Golden Mic Award, has worked in local radio for more than 30 years and is best known as the personality synonymous with the oldies format during his days with KWFM FM 92.9 and KWFM AM 1450.

[EDIT-truncated to conform to Fair Use standards]

Previously, 1330 AM was known as KJLL, or The Jolt.

I hope Alan M. has a written contract. It's said Hudson Communications is in court even as we speak about unpaid employees and show hosts in addition to violating tax laws with former workers. Call us if and when you actually get paid.

Hudson Communications and the radio station KWFM is not involved in any court proceedings in Pima County Arizona. I just checked the court records myself.

[EDIT* -TOS violation for disruption and making threats]

Alan is a great guy and happy to see something happening for him in the market. Hopefully we'll see more displaced talent finding the ways back to the Airwaves, at least the ones that still have a passion for Radio!

After working with Alan for 15 years in Tucson first at KCEE, then KWFM I can't think of a better person to take the reins and turn the station around. Good luck old freind.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see what's going to happen. I turned the radio off and on a few times today and it's just a trainwreck. Heard some sort of talk program this morning, this afternoon just sort of oscillation or signals from mars.

Welcome to 80 to 90% of the Jolts daily broadcast faux pas. Not to mention the ID playing 5 times over the top of the hour news...every hour. Just sad.

With Alan M. serving as the new OM, does this signal a format change for 1330?

50s through the 70s music blowing into South Tucson?

You think competing with KGVY is gonna help the billing?

Good lord look at the conversation going on over at the Weekly.

If half of that conversation is ANY indication of Alan's new work environment...

Maybe he should reconsider. Good lord is right.

Looks like RJ Fletcher just laid the entire story out fact by fact on the TW Comment section. Seems about right compared to all the former employees comments in past articles. The only one who disagrees is Dawn Avalon (aka the other 45 names posted anonymously that happen to mysteriously all agree with her and tell her she's great lol)

Some great stuff there. Let's sit back and watch the fun now as the GM comes up with another 50 names to post as to combat the truth.

Oh and I talked to Alan Michaels myself the other day. He was hired on as a 10-99 contract. What fun.
