Micheal Savage

Micheal Savage will be doing his show earlier next year on Cumulus stations. Any speculation if he appears earlier on 790 WPRV or could we see a shake up on WPRO to air him LIVE 3-6 pm.Wonder if this could be a door opening for Buddy to hop to WHJJ.Before anyone says it he could bring the sponsors with him.

I think Michael Savage's show will stay on WPRV, but at the same or earlier time, if they switch the shows they now have from 3-6 afternoons (varying according to the day). I can't see Buddy's show switching to WHJJ, because WHJJ has Sean Hannity's show from 3-6 and Clear Channel likely wants to keep clearing his show in the Providence market.

Do you really think that WPRO would put on Michael Savage from 3-6? That would produce a miniscule HJJ, PRV rating of .7. That would really be the death knell of AM radio in RI.i

Yes, It wouldn't surprise me if they did. When it comes to Cumulus network shows they have very little choice. WPRV is all Cumulus Talk shows that they are forced to air. Obviously, Cumulus sees SAVAGE as a strong Drive time host if they are having him do his show early to replace HANNITY.If they can save money then yes.
That LIVE 5 am-9 pm live line up will not be all live a year from now.Somethings going to give.
$$$$$$$$$$$

I've been hearing that baloney for years and it's yet to come true. You have no basis for that prediction.

Clear Channel likes to clear all the Premiere product in the top markets. It all clears on WHJJ, because that's the only talk station they own in the market.

Cumulus likes to clear the Cumulus talk lineup in big markets. They own two 5kw AM talkers low on the dial with almost identical coverage except on the fringe of the market. All of the Cumulus syndie clears on WPRV. They're not interested in clearing anyone else's syndie, and all that's left after WHJJ and WPRV are filled up is absolutely awful third and fourth tier talkers and no financial incentive.

This isn't rocket science.

Which brings up a question: When Cumulus takes over Premiere, will there be any show swapping among signals?

Cumulus isn't taking over Premiere. Cumulus bought the old Dial Global, currently Westwood One.

After that merger, Cumulus will own the Jim Bohannon show, which airs on Clear Channel's WHJJ. It's possible that show could move.
