Michele McPhee returns to WRKO on June 11th

She is not well-read; one would think management would notice that a talk host who is not well-read is a liability.

At least they told Brien to run along. I have never heard a broadcaster with her stunning inability to speak in complete sentences.

Between Manning, Brien and McPhee, the WRKO brass seems to think talk radio is an amateur hour. How bad are they at judging talent? Finnegan was their best hire since they bought WHDH.

Finnegan? Do you mean finneran as in the felon? If so, he's a hack's hack, all he did was defend hacks - "he's a good good guy".

On another note, would someone please tell me why RKO is airing ads by Laura Ingraham when she is no longer part of the line up?
 
Ads by Laura--maybe as part of running Talk Radio Network shows (Doyle, Savage)

WEEI and WRKO have been known to run some ads featuring "Mike and Mike" from the ESPN
Radio morning show. Maybe they run those ads as part of WEEI's (overnight mostly) ESPN
affiliation.
 
TKK is still running spots Mel Robbins cut before she left almost two months ago. I'm happy the RKO Sales Dept decided to delete Howie Carr's spot for Straga where he butchers the pronunciation of Pasta Fra Diavolo.

Yesterday, Carr was banging on about how even though it was holiday in Boston (Bunker Hill Day) he still wouldn't park his car on the streets of Boston for fear he would get a ticket, forget to pay it and then get arrested for an over due fine. Police do not arrest you for over due parking tickets and even if they did since his vehicle is registered to Olsen Cadillac I doubt he much to worry about.

First off if you think Howie is the only host to call Finneran the felon, you don't get out much, secondly, you still haven't said whether you're talking about finneran or finnegan???

The horrible Jessica Fuller, newsreader on Talk1200 has now been moved to Saturdays only and never ceases to amuse me. Yesterday she was doing sports news, Red Sox beat the Marlins 5 to 0, she said five to zero, not five nothing, five to zero, who says zero in sports?
 
Maybe she can be like the Brits and say "nil"....John Kerry was once giving a speech and mentioned the Red Sox to the crowd and gave the score thus: "so today it was Yankees 2, Red Sox 3..." but of course he's not quite the sportscaster (he also when asked to name his current fave Red Sox player a couple years ago replied, "I tell ya, Manny Ortez (sic)...Manny Ortez, DAVID Ortez...")
