Trachtenberg began her career as child actor, notably starring in the big screen adaptation of "Harriet the Spy" in 1996. The NYC medical examiner’s office said Thursday her cause and manner of death were undetermined.

Michelle Trachtenberg, an actress best known for her roles in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Gossip Girl," has died at age 39.

Note Michelle Tractenberg is best known for her roles in the 2000's. Note the death is under investigation as of this posting. A preliminary report is showing that the now deceased star had a liver transplant as a factor. But it's not the complete confirmation by the coroner's office.

Trachtenberg was found dead Wednesday in her New York City apartment near Columbus Circle just after 8 a.m. local time by her mother, police sources told ABC News.


The sources told ABC News the actress recently underwent a liver transplant and may have been experiencing complications. Trachtenberg is believed to have died of natural causes and no foul play is suspected.

An autopsy will be conducted by the medical examiner's office to determine the cause and manner of death.

Is this the right answer to your question? IIRC in 1996 during my sisters era which I wasn't born yet, Michelle's first movie breakout role title character was Harriet The Spy.

And she was the same age as my oldest sister who was born in 1985.
