A LOT OF US HAVE COMMENTED ON MICKEY LATELY.

A COUPLE OF PERSONAL THINGS COME TO MIND. BACK IN THE '90'S BEFORE MOVING TO LAS VEGAS I DID A LOT OF FILLING IN ON KGO...TALK AND BUSINESS REPORTING.

MICKEY DOESN'T OFTEN DEAL WITH THE AIR PEOPLE DIRECTLY, HE DELEGATES THAT TO JACK SWANSON BUT HE DOES ON OCCASION IE: ONE NIGHT DOING TALK THE PRODUCER IFB'D ME..."MICKEY JUST CALLED AND SAID HE DIDN'T KNOW WHO WAS ON OR WHAT STATION HE WAS LISTENING TO" . I GOT HIS POINT, APPEARENTLY I WENT TOO MANY MINUTES WITHOUT NAME AND CALL LETTERS.

ONE MORNING WHEN DOING THE BUSINESS REPORTS I WAS TALKING ABOUT GAS PRICES AND MENTIONED THAT UNION 76 (A STATION ADVERTISER) HAD THE HIGHEST GAS PRICES. MICKEY MADE ME PROVE IT. I DID.

I NEED TO TELL YOU WHAT A PRINCE JACK SWANSON IS. HE LET'S YOU DO YOUR THING. WHEN HE HIRED ME TO DO THE FILL IN BUSINESS REPORTING HE KNEW IT WASN'T MY SPECALITY. HE JUST SAID.."DO THE STORIES THAT APPEAL TO YOU"
IT WORKED.

With that note, Jerry, you make me yearn for the days of the OLD AP/UPI Teletypes...
:D
A Belated BTW: I enjoyed your night shows on the old KSFO. Hope all is well with you in
Lost Wages, NV..

THANKS FOR THE KIND WORDS. WE STILL GET OUR WEATHER FORECASTS FROM THE WEATHER SERVICE ON THE COMPUTER AND IT'S ALL CAPS.

THANKS, WE ARE DOING WELL.

Ah, the good old days of typing in all caps, triple spaced. I miss typewriters about as much as editing with a razor blade...
