Micronta Field Strength Meter great at P15AM power levels!

Hello All,

The Micronta Field Strength Meter I bought off eBay http://cm.ebay.com/cm/ck/1065-29392...ite=0&ver=EOIBSA080805&lk=URL&Item=6479901456 (there are plenty more!) arrived this morning, and it works like a charm.

With my Talking House fired up, the needle moved across about half of the meter range at 3 feet from the transmitting antenna, even with the sensitivity dial set at about 75% and using only the short, stock rod antenna that comes with the unit. At 100%, the meter movements are easy to discern even 6 feet away from the transmitting antenna.

As I changed frequencies, the needle very noticeably moved to reflect the changes in field strength. (The field strength at 520 kHz is a *lot* weaker than at 1700 kHz.) I highly recommend this piece of test equipment to any Part 15 AM experimenter or broadcaster. -- JasonW

Yes, it was your pictures of your Micronta FSM that prompted me to order mine.

I'm still amazed that my MFJ-801 barely shows any meter movement and my MFJ-802 shows none, even when both meters' sensor antennas are *touching* the Talking House's transmitting antenna! -- Jason

It sold for $7.99 and $6.00 shipping..<P ID="signature">______________

That's about the most common price for these Micronta Field Strength Meters on eBay. Some go for a little more, some for a little less. -- Jason
