OK, I never listened to Bucket Head at night and if it was anything like middays, I'm glad. What a waste of air space! The show's format sounds like he went to old consultant clocks and locked his bits into them with a 'never change, never move' rule.
News Under the Influence at X-time, Dumb game B at Y time - no matter what else is going on. He can't work a topic without it sounding forced and self serving. He can't talk without sounding like slick, wannabe morning guy pablum.
I don't know if there is enough personality behind the vacuity to save the show. I think Oddo is underused here and the conceit of calling all side-kicks and interns by '80's pop culture names is inane.

Burke was annoying at times but a hell of a lot more entertaining on the whole. He just needed a keeper. The BS needs to spend more time in the farm league to get his game on.

But that's just my opinion ;D
 
Only thing right about the above post is...it's your opinion. Mine is...no one cares! If you don't like the show use the button and change the station! An out of work hack small market PD whining on the board about a person's show is lame! Bottom-line...who you complained about is getting something called a "paycheck" in the business...are you currently? By the way you mention "farm league"...wouldn't that be the panhandle and backwater Alabama towns?

Good ol' Buckethead. His show is good when he does not try to talk about music. I mean, c'mon, this is a guy who thinks that Radiohead suck and that Meatloaf was one of the first theatrical rockers ever..(Can you say Alice Cooper). He also talks about Korn like they are today's Led Zeppelin or something...

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

However, I have heard that Buckethead is a really nice guy if you ever have a chance to meet him, so that makes him cool..

One thing that you will definately NOT HEAR on his show is dead air at times. Burke always had a problem with that one..
 
Real Radio 104.1 may have a serious problem...they might need to ask...do we grow old with our audience or do we go "cutting edge" and risk losing some of our older listeners???

I do not listen to the station,but the ratings would seem to indicate the station is not doing as well as it once did...So...Do we try to appeal to 40 year old Men,who were 20-25 in our early days...or do we re-invent ourselves?

Nothing wrong with the farm leagues (Tallahassee, FYI) when you are doing what you like which for me was grooming young talent and focusing on voice work.
And I am out of the business and quite well paid, TYVM.
I also shut down the stream when the BS comes on - but am interested enough in the health of that station's format to comment. What's your excuse to replying to me if I am a "hack...whining?" I doubt you're old enough to know whether I was a hack or not, scooter.
 
i think you have misjudged Bucket, he hasn't had the time, he works in CC turmoil, and next to Philips is the best talent they have. He is on point, on traget, and he learned from some of the best ( i say some, because double down in Tampa is an idiot) Give him time, he wont shoot a dog, and he will bring class to the station
