Decided to take my 3 foot box loop outside with the Grundig G5 and do a midday bandscan. Now there IS some skywave due to the shortened time of day...but still a good scan.

Before long you'll probably have CBK 540 in your daytime log. The threshold may have been the Burien, WA TIS, though, which is a pest here. I logged CBK last winter (or perhaps the winter before?) at 2 p.m. once. With a portable and Select-A-Tenna. My longest daytime DX. I don't remember if the Burien TIS was on the frequency at that time.

I did get CBK in my daytime log, one time. New Year's Day this year I took my G5 outside, and there it was - "This is CBC Radio 1, FM 102.5 in Regina and 540 in Saskatchewan" - 800 miles right there.
