Midday severe weather not important?

Early this afternoon, under a Tornado Watch, there was 2" hail and high winds tearing across the North Metro area from Paulding to Cherokee to North Fulton. I may have missed it, but no one broke into the President's speech with weather updates?
 
Is that what that was? I thought it was a stand-up comedy act by a Presidential Impersonator. Even the reporters were chuckling. But the best joke was the one about 120 years in the US Senate.
