MIDDLESEX-SOMERSET-UNION ARBITRON RATINGS: MAY 2011

WRXP continues to rise in the M/S/U book, up to a 3.0 now.    They're also above several NYC stations, such as KTU, Fresh, and the two hip-hop/R&B stations.  All this combined with the fact that the station is neck-and-neck with WPLJ in the NYC book makes me think they're not about to flip anytime soon.  I personally am not thrilled with their current sound, since I have more expansive tastes and don't like having arena rock mixed with my alternative.  But they seem to have found a mix that works with the average rock listener in the NYC suburbs.  So congrats to them.

The sudden 1.3 point surge for Star 99.1 seems curious... any particular event that would have caused a spike in listenership?

That and about 20,000 cume for WFME would lead to the Rapture?

What's happening with WKMK? Guess country fever is about to get cooled down?
