The station plays Adult Standards NOT standart. If you think you can do better then go ahead and buy the station I hear it is still for sale. You have to have money or credit and by your inteligent level I figure you have niether. This station is just changing and to be fair you have to give them time to work out the small problems. But again, that would require a brain to know that. Why don't you let the new station be on the air at least 2 months before you drive it to the ground. Spanish religious would NEVER make a go. AGAIN if you think so put your money where you mouth is....BUY it yourself. When 101.3 was LA MERA MERA they had the BEST production ever and NO spanish station in Odessa could compare. Now we don't even have a good station in stereo with quality sound. It's like listening to AM. When we lost LA MERA MERA we, the listeners lost in a big way. LIKE I SAID PUT YOUR MONEY WHERE YOU MOUTH IS. YOU ARE SO MISS INFORMED. GET YOUR FACTS RIGHT. But I guess Don Cook could have priced it to you for 20,000.00 and still knocked you out of the ball park.

Living in East Texas, I have not heard this particular station so I can't comment on what it actually sounds like. There are good Adult Standards stations, and there are horrible ones. BUT Adult Standards can be a good format if it is done right. The music has a loyal following and the station may get quite a bit of notice from people who long ago shut off their radios.
Yeah, I know the 50+ demo is not what ad agency people want to know about. But the over 50 crowd does have money, and they will spend it on products and services that interest them. You do have to sell it, and a lot of your sponsors are likely to be folks who also enjoy the station.
If big numbers is the only thing that is important to you, then this format should be avoided like the plague. On the other hand, you can make a decent living with it, provide entertainment and information to an un-served community of listeners and not get an ulcer in the process.
That is not entirely bad. I wish them luck with it.

The sunday show on KMMZ would never make it 24/7. If you think so, I say it again BUY it and prove you can do a better job. I say what I do about the imaging because I listen to a variety of stations and LA MERA MERA was the only station in the spanish market that could even compare to the Anglo market when it comes to quality sound and imaging. Yes, Sonny is the one that needs to take credit for that. Why doesn't the station you work for get better production and do something about the sound? They really should get Sonny to work for them. I am telling you, we, as Hispanics lost in a big way as far as quality goes when we lost LA MERA MERA. But I think we should give the format a chance. I hope they do well. Why do you support spanish religious radio when your back groud is in such a raunchy radio setting? Oh...it's not GOD it's Money..Well get that money together and prove me wrong.. because I can not imagine anyone supporting spanish religious radio 24/7 at least not enough to support the total upkeep and pay the bills.

1. How do you have a station with ( the best imaging) play the same music everyone else does and target the biggest minority in the market and yet can only break in as station # 18?

Look man we here have always giving you credit because your very good with adobe audicion and you have masterd many voice effect but dude give it up your the worst PD i have ever heard of every dj that has come to apply for a job that used to work with you has talked about emocional and verbal abuse comming from you and how no one at work could stand you and how you wanted to be the super star hey bro you want to talk about my website jajaja check out lameramera.net you got nothing on me i dont think im the best out their cause im not and never will be but hey man you truly lost the opportunity of a life time you ran KMMZ into the ground! Ok pendejo let's get it straight La Mera Mera was not run to the ground. The format was simply changed, thats all. Stations switch formats: that what they do. The owner did only what he thought would be more profitable. Either continue making less than 50G's a month(like the other 2 spanish station in this market) or rake in the big bucks like the big boys(All other formats "not" spanish. It's simple math. And read your other "reply" where "you" do mention me. Or is head our head stuck so far you can't see straight anymore. Hey man look at your sources for the so-called verbal abuse: people like you "ungrateful & inexperienced" that recieved the opportunity to work in radio, and were simply unable to do the job. As if you had such a great boss what about when Pepe and youself came looking for a job? Or when Laly asked for a job(TWICE)? Look man its the same everywhere so don't kid yourself. Or are you going to make something up about that as well? And your right I'll continue doing imaging and mixes which is a "career" that keeps me from working at "(BLEEP)-holes"(part-time), or from owning "(BLEEP)-holes" in Monahans that go no-where. You want to talk about running a station to the ground: "How about your A.M. station in Monahans that went no-where?" Now "thats" something to laugh about. Your a real joke Danny. You opened your own station or rented, and what happened "Mr.Bigshot", "Mr.Big Program Director"?? You had to go back begging for your job!! Which I hope you get to keep considering "Q" is also for-sale. And your comment about the unemployement line: watch out buddy cause with your no-talent having ass "you" might end up there.
