Midnight Predictions

Major changes happening at midnight tonight with Sirius XM... any predictions and hopes?

20 on 20:

I hope: It goes back to XM's original 20 on 20 format throwing on hits, not stiffs like Hits 1 and becoming interactive all over again.

I predict: They're going to do a lot more with the format, making it "top 20 this and top 20 that... top 20 rock songs, country songs, etc."

KISS XM:

I hope: They change up the playlist a bit, this is a perfect opportunity to add more of the old rhythmic stuff and come back with a new imaging package.

I predict: Nothing happens... same imaging (just drops the KISS 21 out of the sweepers, and music is the same)

MIX XM:

I hope: They update the golds for once! Same tired 80s everyday. I don't know how they're getting the ratings they do.

I predict: New imaging, but not new music.

HITS 1:

I hope: Everything stays on Hits 1 and 20 on 20 is left alone.

I predict: It'll go back to the old Sirius Hits 1 with Human Numan and the other jocks. No more top 20 every hour.

I don't forsee the other channels making any other changes. I'd like The Heat to also go back to rhythmic, but that's not going to happen. As you can tell I'm more of a hits/hip-hop guy, any else wanna make predictions especially regarding 20 on 20.

SiriusXM does not program KISS or MIX. They're Clear Channel stations. The only thing they're doing is moving to different channels. I'm surprised that Clear Channel agreed to let them be moved.

I don't think you'll see much, if any, difference in the programming of the channels. It's just a channel rearrangement to make the two systems lineups uniform. However, I should point out that the new lineup listing has Hits 1 and 20 on 20 listed as separate channels (2 and 3 respectively). I think that'll likely be the biggest change you'll see with programming itself. Other than that, just the same channels in different locations.

SXMH1 and 20on20on3 are both still sharing programming simulcasts like the Mashup, so there hasn't even been a change there, either.

For some reason the Mashup isn't simulcast live though. Hits1on2 has it from 6am-10am while 20on20on3 has music. Then 20on20on3 has Morning mashup on from 10am-1pm (eastern)

Wonder what they'll do with the Spyder Harrison weekend countdown.

I kind of like having the extra channel to flip to if one is playing something I don't like.

West coast feed...Stern does it and I noticed ESPN Xtra does it with Mike & Mike (ESPN Radio's morning show)

why did they even bother to switch the channels ?

They wanted Sirius and XM to have a uniform lineup, which in reality, didn't fully happen because there's still various channels that are on different numbers (example: best of Sirius or XM channels)

yea - thats what i mean - and ....whats the "big" idea
about uniform -they are already had the 'sweepers' TOH/promo's , IDs etc
for BPM and radio disney, etc - and the 80s/90s/decades stayed the
same as it was any how lol
