Might Wanna Keep A Closer Eye On Your Liners/Promos

I know this has happened to all of us now & then over the years but I still cringe when I hear it....I was coming back from Raleigh about 12:35 this morning listening to a Rocky Mount station and I hear a liner saying "Catch all the action of High School football and check our website for the complete schedule of games" High school football ended five or six weeks ago and I doubt they would promo next season this early..?????????

It's not only liners & promos. Hardly a day goes by that I don't hear an outdated barter spot. Or, God forbid, out-of-date local inventory. Having one person run traffic for 3-6 stations leads to these embarrassing situations. It doesn't help that production directors are overwhelmed for most clusters and air staff will tend to "TFN" anything they load into the system.

True and usually when you have 3 or 4 stations in one building with 1 and a half staffs if that much...things tend to fall between the cracks..Gosh things have changed....I remember a few PD's or GM's if they had heard something like that they would have pooped a Pop Tart but the lazy whatever attitude seems to have really crept into radio and society in general...

Even worse, one of local stations airs a local public affairs show every Sunday morning at 6. Unfortunately, the 30-minute program and the satellite programming air concurrently. This has been happening for about 6 months. Mediocre? That would be a kind assessment.

T-F-N - 'Til Frekin' Never?

We used to have a rule in Raleigh that TFN mean "ends today and will be on your copy needs sheet for tomorrow and you put in a new order".

The "News and Talk" station in Sumter plays "These are today's headlines from today's Item Newspaper for January 26" for the last eight mornings with the same old news?? :-\
