"Mighty" 1190 is no more

County actually does quite well in Minnesota, even in the
liberal, sophisticated Twin Cities market. It also does
surprisingly well in the left-leaning, latte-sipping
Seattle and its neighbor, Portland, OR.

New York City and San Francisco are the two markets where
the culture and demos are biased against country. Even
Boston gets a respectable share from WKLB (and it might
get even better if the supposed moved to the better 102.5
frequency happens).

FWIW, 1190 is still a preset. I like all three kinds of
music: oldies, country and western.

We can clean it up by using a word invented by my friend Alexa Nikolas: SUCKISH!
Country and hip-hop are suckish.

Question from the Blues Brothers: What kind of music do you have here?

Bob's wife at the Country Bunker: Oh, we got both kinds--country AND western.

Texas IS also rock and roll....Edgar and Johnny Winters as well as Janis Joplin along with a LARGE number of others got their start down in SE Texas. Texas is NOT only country...not every Texan drives a pickup or wears chaps or pokes cattle.

Hillbilly country? YUK......no thanks.....

I grew up listen to such classics like Eddie Arnold singing the "Cattle Call" as heard on Howard Stern's movie and others on 8 track as well as CCR and Steppenwolf on LPs :)
