HAHAHAHA!! I'm glad someone else noticed that, too. To my recollection, KLIF-1190 ALWAYS said the phrase as "MIGHTY 1190" and NEVER "Mighty" in a noun-ish sense...it was always an adjective! Never just "Mighty", like one would singularly say, "Magic" or "Mix" or "Sunny." For a station that claims to know the old KLIF so well, this is a severe and oft-repeated error. The old radio hands know how to use it...even Hal Jay will sometimes refer to 820 as the "Mighty 'B-A-P", and, of course, Dr Johnny Fever often called his station the "Mighty 'K-R-P" (if that counts for anything.)
But curiously, this little AM renaissance, along with newbie KXEB, has me listening to AM more than I have since 1973 or so. And that's with XM as an option in the car as well. Mono is actually bearable when someone is playing more than one or two songs in a row that you like.
