Migos Rapper Takeoff Dead at 28 in Houston Shooting

When I was a kid it seemed like RnRollers tended to die in aircraft crashes. Now it seems like rappers die by gunshot. Is it the lifestyle they project or something else?

Careful, Tuna. Remember the thread that was shut down when it turned racist? This is an impossible topic to discuss.

Oh, and who other than Valens, Holly, Croce and Redding died in plane crashes? (Not including Big Bopper because he was a disc jockey who sort of sang.)

Rick Nelson
Ronnie Van Zant and other members of Lynyrd Skynyrd
Stevie Ray Vaughn (helicopter crash)
Kyu Sakamoto ( "Sukiyaki")

If you venture past rock: Wes Montgomery, Patsy Cline, Glenn Miller, John Denver.

Twenty-two-year-old pop/urban star Aaliyah and her companions were killed in a plane crash in the Bahamas in August of 2001 after wrapping up a video shoot there.

Also, country singer Troy Gentry, as well as the pilot, were killed in a helicopter crash in New Jersey in 2017.

In my own collection I have songs by just four artists who were killed in plane incidents: Buddy Holly, Richie Valens, Pedro Infante and Aaliyah.
