Mike Ambrose, best known for his San Diego TV weather gigs, has died at age 69: http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/obituaries/20080901-1907-bn1ambrose.html

I first heard him as a DJ in the very early 60's on KDEO, maybe about 1962. He ran a contest where you had to make as many words as possible using the letters in the phrase Mike Surf Ambrose - the prize was a surfboard. As a 7th grader I thought I did pretty good with the list I sent in, but when I heard how words the winner had come up with, I was quite humbled.

Dave, Shelly, and Chainsaw re-played the tribute this morning where Ruth 66 "killed" Captain Mike five years ago. Classic DSC and a good send off to the Captain.
