Just read he resigned from his position at Service.

Do you think George Cook will move up to that spot?

By the way, I'm just waiting to hear from Ken Dowe butt kissers.

I thought he was Ken Dowe's hand picked man. I guess Hyman is fed up already.

Does this mean no more 5'Oclock Mix? And what about Sean Andre? is he still there?

Well haters, looks like there's a change of heart with Mr. Erickson. He's on board for 3 more years. Money talks...

Why is it a shame?

From what I've seen, his claim to fame is club mixes. I'm no rocket scientist but I think that hardly qualifies one to be ops manager or whatever title he has. He seems to have a condescending attitude, and if he wasn't overpaid before, he is now. I'll just sit back and watch the ratings. Time will tell. I hardly believe re-decorating the studios (ONE thing on his to-do list) will bring ratings up, especially if there are people who've worked there for years and haven't had raises due to the economy. Employee morale anyone?

I'm not sure why radiOavenger would say that keeping Mike Erickson is a shame. You must A: a Ken Dowe fan and was hoping he would re-surface at Service. Or judging by you "re-decorating" comment, B: a bitter employee who has not had a raise becuase you don't deserve it. I know from speaking to three folks in that building over the past few weeks, that the people who produce get the raises. And judging by the cars in that parking lot...they do. The building does need work. I was there a year ago and the roof leaked in the bathroom and the carpet was horrible... so I get it. That is part of being a ops manager too. I think that the morale issue might be on KKDA-AM and Mike Erickson is not over that radio station I don't think. As far as ratings, it's tough when it's a 4 horse Urban race with only a 14% of African Americans in the metro. The market can't accomadate it. So if somebody has to sell right now, would it be Service (KKDA/KRNB) or Radio One (KBFB/KSOUL)? Those are type of conversations I would like to see on the Dallas mess boards rather than bitter (formner or current) employees talking about things that don't matter. Just my 2 cents.
