Mike Huckabee To WBEC/Pittsfield

One of the first (two) stations to yank Rush Limbaugh in the wake of Flukegate was WBEC/Pittsfield. The station has named a replacement for Rush - which just happens to be the upstart show that some speculate may end up replacing Rush on Cumulus stations... that would be Mike Huckabee, whom the station said would be "less abrasive" than El Rushbo.

Limbaugh was originally hired by KFBK Sacramento as a replacement for Morton Downey Jr.
They felt Limbaugh would be more polite and kind to callers

Huckabee is a Dominionist (he wants the USA to be a Christian nation). Some people find that very offensive. My father didn't risk his Jewish ass in WWII so we could have a Christian nation.

Huckabee's been trying to fill the shoes of the late Paul Harvey for a while now. I'm not very impressed.

Anyone remember Fred Thompson's radio show? Or, for that matter, Al Franken's?

Why do people believe that hosting a talk show is so easy that any ex-politician can do it?

Maybe it's the fact that Thompson and Franken hosted shows that were in direct competition of Limbaugh that few people remember their shows. Bill O'Reilly also comes to mind...
