Mike Huckabee

My stations are replacing Paul Harvey With Huckabees program. Actually, we replaced it with Doug Limerick but are now replacing that with Huckabee.

My question is; Is this a political program? Even if it's not, will it sound out of place on stations in Canada? I know huckabee well, and enjoy him on fox news, but I think it's probably going to be somewhat of a political commentary.

Thanks,

Randy.

Alright. well we listened to the Demos and it's definately too American focussed. The first one we listened to started off with "Congress is going to be..."

I'm just wondering what some of you guys are replacing Paul Harvey with. We would just dump it altogether but we have a sponsor signed on so we need to replace it with something. Also, what happened with Doug Limerick. We just got an email from our contact at abc and said he's being replaced with Huckabee.

Any other programs you can reccomend? Through ABC or otherwise. I believe we can dump the program since he died and go with syndicator if we wanted.

Randy.

Mort Crim has a good commentary program that runs a few minutes a day, but its good quality like Harvey's program.

One of our local talk show hosts at WLS AM in Chicago, Roe Conn, who is on from 2-6PM weekdays, has started
doing a nationally syndicated news/entertainment update. It is only a 2 or 3 minute segment.

I don't know if this would be something you would be interested in, but, here is a link if you'd like to look
into it. www.roeconn.com/report

GOOD DAY ;)

Has anyone heard anything from Paul Harvey Jr. If he followed in his Dad's footsteps I think he could get his Dad's old sponsors.

Paul Harvey had a very good run. He was one-of-a-kind. As long as he continued, he had a loyal following, both with listeners and with clients, but his listeners were getting older and older. Any attempt to replicate Paul Harvey would be a difficult sell.

I had understood that PH Jr was working on "The Rest of the Story", with a number of programs that could be brought back into syndication, but have heard nothing on that for months.
