Boom shack-a-lacka! Who's the new PD? Is it Annette Wade? Maybe a Pd who likes jingles? hmmm Maybe one who likes TALENTED station voice guys? Man I can't wait for a possible overhaul, but they can keep "Totally On-Demand B" on Saturday nights. Thats the ONLY radio show in this city that is actually powered by all-requests!

Speaking of, some woman called them a few Saturday nights ago and requested Marvin Gaye's Let's Get It On. The dj actually played it --on B97-- and I laughed! Didn't fit the station, but the guy lives on the phone with callers and the listeners eat it up!

Boom shack-a-lacka!

Hahaha... didn't know we were still in 1989 Sam. I thought it was boom sock-o-locka, but funny nontheless! :D ::) ;D

Really?! So does this mean that the winds of change are blowing in New Orleans? Will a true, full-blown CHR emerge once again from our FM legend B-97?

Back on June 1st, the station celebrated its 28th birthday, but we still can't forget the EZ Communications disaster with the flip to Hot Talk. Still, I just don't see how anyone, consultant or not, can take a heritage station like B-97, WRNO, etc. and pull the rug out from under the listeners. I guess it all boils down to that mighty dollar.

B-97 will NEVER live again until Stevie G & T-Pot are GONE !
In my 47 years, I can honestly say I have NEVER heard more terrible shows than
what these two try to do in the afternoon - ABSOLUTE CRAP !
Let me know when they are gone and I will re-set a button for B-97 and then give them a try.

p.s. - please make sure they leave town and not end up on another station !

No No No! Say what you want about Stevie, "he can fight his own battles, and to his defence, did a great "B" mascott " but Tierza has more talent than you or I will ever have. I don't know you, but know if you think SHE doesn't have talent, your a bad judge of it. Tierza has been someone I have believed for a long time should have been hired for a larger market. She's funny, smart and beautiful all rolled up. I worked for 8 years with her and the crew that was there, so I know what I'm talking about. And who outted Mike? I thought everyone knew about the whole "closet republican" thing. Go figure...

I have to agree with bjdj. They might be some good people and they may have good intentions but their show is garbage. What they try to force down people's throat every afternoon is aweful! The show is usually all about them and their baby. Everytime I have tried to turn them on to give them a chance, its always talk about their baby. What name to pick, how big of a stroller to buy, the baby threw up, etc. Matter of fact, I or someone else may have mentioned this before, but the one day that threw in the towel for me trying to listen to their show was the day Tea-Pot was pumping breast milk on the air! Wow...... I quit trying. ::)
I thought everyone knew about the whole "closet republican" thing.

Hmmm... you sure he's not a "closet democrat", KD? :D

I believe you mean "driven"?

John Roberts might be inline. again.
But don't rule out Ms. Fruge' as a possible replacement.
And then there's the little lady up the street who might want a shot.
Or, would McQueen be in their sights?

My money's on Anette Wade for PD. " Could be a mistake though..."
I think Pal Al will politic for a PD position for Bayou.
Mr. Sutter would love to get ahold of a rock PD gig "don't let'em tell ya otherwise".
And when all is said and done. Mr. Paxton will make the call.

P.S. Hi Kevin, your missed down here. ::)

It is about time for Charese to come back to the Crescent City..

Stevie and T-Pot are pretty good people, believe me. Their show may not be a prize, but I worked with them, as well as KDuplantis. How goes it up there in TN (am I correct)?! Hope all is well!

Really,... John Roberts again? Sounds good. I worked there as a part-time jock while he was PD and he ran a pretty tight ship. Everyone had to read liner cards and stick to them though, and with very little deviation. Overall, he was a nice guy and a radio pioneer. Other than that, I liked his traditional approach to CHR radio.

Wait, Ms. Frugé, as in Charese (spelling) Frugé? I didn't even know she was still in radio, or even in town for that matter!

John McQueen? I worked with him at Citadel. Is he still PD of Mix 92.3? It's been almost two months since Citadel dropped country on 106.7, in favor of moving Old School 102.9 to the frequency. Since I left, a lot of changes have been going on over there, so I'm just as interested in this as the next person. :)

Annette Wade could be a good candidate for PD. She does have the experience, as it wasn't totally her fault for Mix 104.1's demise. Vacherie stick, CC's ownership of other stations playing music that Mix would, and B-97's return were too many factors that tanked them.

Pal Al needs to be PD for Bayou. He did it for the Levet's at 'CKW. He can do it again, and he'll be good at it. He definitely won't need a cosultant!

Sutter, as in Steve Suter? He's good radio people too! He told me one day when I was doing a Magic 101.9 remote with him that he was the PD of Mix 95.7! I didn't know that, but he's capable! He too, wouldn't need a consultant.

Mr. Paxton,... is that the GM of Entercom New Orleans?

Hello. Who are you psyco-1? E-mail me at [email protected]
I have to go wrestle a bear now. And tonight, we're having a "hoods off" marshmello roast with a new frat I might be pledging to.
Also, we might be looking for a PD with strong Country music skills. If you have a cowboy hat permanently sew'n to your head and bleed USA, give me an e-mail. Enjoy the "Left" coast Mike! Tell Dinwidde Hi for us.

no john roberts!!!!!!!!!! please. mike k did a great job. b had great ratings under him. mike is the true pioneer. he studies who the audience is, goes to the concerts and clubs and looks and learns exactly who they are and what they like.

how can people say jon r was a pioneer? he had a morning show with stevie, cheryl, and billy brown!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

billy brown although good people had no business on a CHR!!!! he was a country type dude. he could not relate to a 12-17 or an 18-34 which is what b goes for.

that move made no sense. stevie and cheryl are/were great fits for b. billy brown???? oh my. billy brown with ya on b-97, let's hear the latest single from chingy....

no that does not work.

this is not a slam on b brown. one of the real people in the business. just was a terrible place to put him.

john r was OUT OF TOUCH

Did he get the axe or did he opt to leave himself?? I still here no changes on B, so they must not have a new pd in place.

what happened to him at his previous gig is probably what happened to him here..........he got run off. he should have been canned after that cat fight fiasco he had with the pd of 92.3 at that club in new orleans.
but if he hasnt left yet there will be no changes until the new pd takes over. and john roberts is good radio people. i agree with jeremy. his traditional approach to the format is always good. billy brown may not have fit in but it worked and listeners enjoyed the show. kid k is no prize!
studies who the audience is, goes to the concerts and clubs and looks and learns exactly who they are and what they like.
and mike may have done a good job but his choice of air personalities and music on b97 is far fetched. take a look at the website.......... he may think outside the box which can be good. but the way he programmed the station as a whole was poor. it lacked a lot from other mainstream chrs. the boy band focus was overkill. why???? for girls to young to sell to?? thats not it.

i guess we should just ask someone who has worked with him before............

im looking forward to changes as are my kids as well. looks like im not alone

Don' forget of the cat fight fiascos with Ms. Johnnie. They had numerous showing of the claws in public. Before here, Ms. Kap was run out of KC in a short period of time. Uncle Pat P to the rescue and got him his cushy job here and now he's off to Enter Seattle. Them are some good pictures paw-paw! Same situation, same problems? How and why the star of David lets it fly? They going love his attitude and those stylist holey jeans.

Sounds like how perverse religious get shifted from city to city without the core perversion ever being addressed.

wow...............there was more than one instance?? thats terrible! looks like he needs to hit the road before he stirs the pot and causes more trouble. two gay men fighting over whos station is better..........thats stupid. the public doesnt want to be around that kind of childlike behavior especially in a night club supposedly filled with adults. ::)
i heard someone inside citadel N.O has been spoken to about the position
my guess would be jim hanzo, neil wilson, or ms johnnie queenie .......cant see stacy brady going for it.

Well, let me tell ya. First, Kevin, If I told you who I am, I might loose my lofty position. Second, I don't care who gets the job as PD, as long as they can do the job as PD. I would like to see the "B" mascot come back, but not the fat blowup one.
