Mike Kavanagh to Leave PM News Anchor Post at WSB

After a great career in radio that has spanned many years, Mike Kavanagh has decided to give up his position as afternoon news anchor at WSB, effective at the end of the year. Mike will still do his Money Matters talk show on Sunday and the financial reports in Atlanta's Morning News. He'll also continue to fill in for Scott Slade in morning drive. Finally, he will be available to come in during important breaking news.

Mike wants to devote more time to his growing financial planning practice. By the way, Mike was operations manager of WCNN in 1984 during its first incarnation as an all-news station and ironically started his career at a Massachusetts station whose call letters were WSBS.

Mike is a class act. Great guy and a heckuva Newsman. Glad he'll still be around at least on a part-time basis.

I have listened to Mike since I was a kid and hope to one day be 1/10 as good. See ya Mike
