Mark Dailey reports on the Classic CKLW page:
"I wanted Big 8 friends and fans to know of the passing of former Big 8 jock Mike Kelly. Mike joined the Big 8 shortly after I did in 1973 and remained until 1977. He also worked in Toronto briefly and returned to Detroit radio and voice work. He has worked for Clear Channel's Mediabase 24/7 for many years. Mike was also an accomplished singer and song writer and worked with some of the old Motown greats. He was a good friend of the Spinners and many other talents in the 70's. Mike battled stomach cancer for 9 months and died in Encino California Saturday August 13 at age 52."
