Mike Macho leaving KICKS

Line up changes at KICKS 101.5 Tug takes over the afternoon slot next Monday as Mike Macho is leaving radio to focus on a company that produces radio shows. I have always like Mike but look forward to Tug since they have signaled him out as of the past few months on the morning show!!!

I hate to see Mike go. He's excellent. The company he's joining is run by former Kicks PD Mark Richards. Kristen Charles also works there.

In speaking of Kristen Charles, I heard an ad on All News 106.7 a couple weeks ago saying she's back, but not doing news or traffic. Instead, she's now co-hosting "Successful Retirement" with Jack Albertson of Albertson Financial. The show airs Sunday mornings at 9AM on All News 106.7. Anyway, that is all.

I hate to see him go to,he seems like a real down to earth kind of guy,if I'am not mistaken he was produce for Rhubarb for awhile. Tug will do great.

Mike is the best! He never produced for Rhubarb or Randy and Spiff. He did do the music for Kicks and 106.7 when it was Atlanta's Greatest Hits.

Wait, what, OMFG!!!! He doesn't want to work for Cumulus??? :-\ You won't hear that newsflash on 106.7.

Chalk another quality personality, leaving the business, and probably for good, with his talent. Another Radio itself (not Video), that killed the Radio Star.

Sorry for comparing it this way, and this is nothing against his replacement, but when you buy a high end car, you don't get it to perform better by replacing the $1,500 Goodyears with some Chinese generic's from Walmart. Not that he was replaced, but eventually when you don't take care of your people as a company, you're left on blocks, or even straight on the pavement.

Best of luck to you MM!

Ok,Steve Michell said he hired him back in '99,so I thought he started on 106.7 and then moved to Kicks in 2000 when they Y to Eagle. I remember him doing Saturday night at Cowboys and then Wild Bills.

Mike is a great broadcaster and a super person. He was a keystone in the success of many people who he worked with. Sales people he made shine. Engineers who could count on him. Managers who knew he would do the right thing. Record reps who he always treated with respect. I am proud to have gotten to work with him and wish him the best.
