Mike McConnell Returning to WLW

Cunningham had McConnell in studio this afternoon and announced that Mike is back at WLW as a fill in host.

Very happy to hear this news. A definite breath of fresh air to an otherwise stale radio station. I wonder if Mike could take over Willie's afternoon slot if he decides to focus mainly on his TV show?

Maybe if they were nice, CC would post their "fill-in schedule" so I can make some appointments to listen!

WLW 2016:
5AM Mornings with Steve Hawkins
9AM Mid-day with Lisa and Gary Jeff (Cincy version of "Live w/Kelly and Micheal"}
12PM The Big Show with Mike McConnell
3PM "The Three" with Eddie, Mike Allen, Sterling, Tom Streicher, a woman TBA, Willie, Rocky and Dan Carroll featuring Seg
( Rotate 8 people into 3 chairs for a week at a time to discuss 3 topics in 3 hours. A dead rip-off of FNC's "The Five" ) Eddie=Gutfield !
6PM Sports Talk / Live Sports Unchanged
9PM Evenings with Sloanie
12AM ATN
Weekends with Gary Jeff, Broo, Mo, + whoever and MLB-NFL-NCAA PostGame w/Tracy, Rocky and/or Doc (that is Tracie's name spelled incorrectly)

Think about 2016: Hawkins is the best choice to replace the retiring WSAI Good Guy. 9AM would be Mainly local with 2 people of differing viewpoints , Noon-3PM would be the best prepped show on radio ( I do so miss Book Club) and 3PM A Call-in show with Eddie anchoring a weekly revolving cast on local, national and international topics with smart people that can also cut up a little would blend in FNC "The Five" with elements of Burbank's and Cunningham's shows rolled in (Cunningham is still doing TV but gets to do what he loves + extra grand kid time). Dan Carroll gets to be Beckel since he doesn't like anything anyway. Tracie goes back to what he really was fantastic at: his fake fan club, fairly strong financial advice and Post game analysts. All is right in the Queen City!

Yeah - station is definitely stale. Time for "Will-eee" to go.

Very good to hear "If You Want Blood (You've Got It)" on the Big One this morning! Felt like old times. I wish they could find a spot for McConnell in the full-time lineup again. I'd be fine if they put him back in the 9-12 slot and moved Sloan to afternoons with the likes of Gary Jeff Walker. Eddie and Tracy do nothing for me (nor for many here, judging from the posts over the years0.
