Mike Mcgowan leaving WODS....

Mike McGowan just announced that he is leaving WODS, and that today will be his last show. It's funny, I was just reading about the history of WODS this morning... I remember Mike from my childhood listening to WKSS.......! I moved to MA a few years ago, and I guess he did too....!

He didn't say where he was going, just that he was moving on.......

He is well-known in the Boston market. Mike worked at Jamn and at the defunct Star 93.7. I even remembered, at one point, he simultaneously worked middays at Jamn and nights at WTIC-FM in Hartford.

I also remember Mike with WKSS-FM 95.7 of Hartford/Meriden in the mid-to-late 90s (I live in New Britain, CT). I think he might have worked with WKCI-FM 101.3 of Hamden/New Haven (KC-101.3) for a time. It was cool when he had his run with WJMN-FM 94.5 (Jam'n 94.5) and then with 93.7 a few formats ago. Anyways, did he happen to say where he was going?

he was also just recently on Mix 104.1

When was he in WKSS (that's KISS 95.7 in Hartford?)
When I was 12 years old (1987) I lived in Amherst, Ma for one year, but lived in Boston area before that and after that. During my stay there in Amherst, Ma, I used to listen to KISS 95.7, back then two radio host was on there [Jeff St John (Now, he's known as "St John" who was recently on WILD 94.9 San Fransisco) and Andrew Wolf] Both of them were also on KISS 108 in Boston.
When I moved to Amherst, Ma, I thought that was so cool to hear them on 95.7 as well. That made me feel like I was at home

Mike was at WKSS-FM primarily in the late 90s and (maybe) the early 2000s. I should have an aircheck or two of him on tape somewhere. More recently, I heard his voice on a couple of spots for the Cox Radio Group in Connecticut, particularly on WEZN-FM 99.9 of Bridgeport, CT.
