MIKE & MIKE GONE FROM ESPN RADIO 1600

Any ideas as to why? I spoke with J.J. Pellini the promotions manager for ESPN RADIO 1600, and he told me they are making changes which he couldn't elaborate on, and I now know about Irv & Joe moving over to p.m. drive but what does that have to do with mornings? Any thoughts?

This is RIDICULOUS. I am completely fed up with ESPN Radio on channel 1600. Mike and Mike is the best show on ESPN Radio, let alone sports radio. I think we should start a petition or something, because this now ruins my mornings. Lincoln Financial Media has made a terrible decision with this, and are doing a very very poor job of managing this station. The signal is incredibly weak, and overall it is a low quality station. ESPN Radio in Denver needs some serious change and I say we start pushing for it.

Before anyone starts a petition I think its a good time for me to say that there is word that Mike & Mike will Probably move to mornings on The Fan. And Sandy Clough will move to Afternoons.

That's an interesting point you bring up, but, there are a couple of flaws with that. First off, the FM side is already Fox sports radio, unless they dump that, plus if Mike & Mike go to FM then where does that leave the local morning show, or are they gone, because from what I've heard, Colin Cowherd is moving to morning drive with Irv & Joe on afternoons on 1600. Another interesting thing I found out, The Avs and Nugs are now on 1510. Talk about a bad move, that's almost as bad as the CBC giving up the Hockey Night In Canada theme.

You're right thats a bad idea to move the AVs and Nuggets over to 1510. As far as The Fan and 1600 is concerned according to the situation with the Sports Guys is as I said that Sandy Clough and his partner I don't remember his name would move to Afternoons to do a new show with Jim Armstrong on The Fan and Mike & Mike doing Mornings on The Fan which would be odd because as you said The Fan carries Fox Sports Radio and Mike & Mike are on ESPN Radio.

Here's a crazy thought, if They are moving Mike and Mike over to the fan, why not just move the whole net over there and put fox on 1600. ESPN is the better network anyway, so give them the stronger signal. I have a friend who P.D.'s for the ESPN affiliate in Toledo, and he told me that they kick the crap out of FSR in Toledo ratings wise. So it makes sense to me to put a weaker net on a weaker signal IMHO.

By the way, yes they are running what they call SPORTSCENTER A.M. over and over again from 4-8 A.M. on ESPN 1600, I like reruns but that's ridiculous!

Irv and Joe are on ESPN RADIO 1600 weekdays from 2-5 P.M. As far as the rest of the moves, I still say move ESPN to the FM signal! ESPN is the better network, and it sounds silly to go from FOX SPORTS RADIO overnite, to Dan Jacobs for 1 hour in the morning, then switch to MIKE AND MIKE with the first 2 hours tape delayed. Come on guys get with the program and put ESPN RADIO back the way it was only on the stronger signal!

Hi everyone:

What they should've done is put Fox Sports Radio on AM 950, ESPN Radio on the FM & Sporting News Radio on AM 1600. This move would've made 1510 dig for its very survival while keeping the talkers on the AM sticks & put ESPN Rado right where it belongs - On the FM.

But, you know as they say - Could've + Would've + Should've = DIDN'T. Ohh well...
