Mike & Mike

I would like to see how many Mike & Mike listeners are on this board, I like to listen to the show not all 4 hours of the show 5 days a week, and really who has time to do that. Which of course I mean the National ESPN Radio that is heard on member ESPN Radio stations no matter how much national ESPN Radio programs that a station airs. Mike & Mike is now the only National ESPN show my local station airs, and for the rest of the day they have 3 local shows that airs between 9:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. This of course is the show that is co-hosted by Mike Golic and Mike Greenberg that also seen on TV mainly ESPN 2, in less there is any overseas sports games that are during all or any of that time.

I like Mike & Mike. In particular I can identify with Golic (we're about the same age, were both raised in
large Catholic families in the Rust Belt, etc.).

Despite this I no longer listen that often. Mainly because ESPN insists on beating me over the head
with the NBA after football season. I'm more of a hockey guy, just not into basketball. I'm sure
that's an executive decision and not fully within the control of the two hosts.

In Myrtle Beach SC (don't know whether this is still the case) the sports talk station is co-owned with an alternative rocker. "Mike & Mike" were on the rock station's morning show.

Plus the fact is ESPN has a contract to broadcast NBA games both on the radio and TV so I am sure ESPN Radio encourages their hosts to talk about NBA basketball more then hockey. NHL hockey the only nation wide stations that carries the games are NBC and NBC Sports Network, and teams games are seen locally by team's own broadcasters. And I don't see it changing anytime soon, but it is surprise that they don't want to get it to baseball talk as well as ESPN does air a few games a week nationally.
