I didn't hear Mike this morning, but I'm guessing they had him on as a guest to speak about the recent Kobe Bryant saga that unfolded on Screamin' A. Smith's show on ESPN Radio in NYC. Mike is a co-host on the show.
I've been saying that he's the only personality that will give WPEN a shot over the long haul to possibly compete with WIP.
I know some around here don't like to hear it, but radio is about revenue, not ratings. WPEN is making more money doing sports and barely showing in the ratings than it diid in its last music incarnations when they had some ratings.
If they stick with sports for an extended amount of time and go with more local programming, they will make even more money. They just have to remember that you have to spend money to make money.
