Mike Morse gone from the Showgram/G105?

I saw a post on the Showgram Facebook wondering why Mike's section of the G105 website was removed, as well as his picture on the Showgram group shot. Wonder what's going on?
 
Well, apparently it's official, Mike is gone from the Showgram.

Unfortunately, I am no longer a part of the Showgram. I can't even begin to thank all of our amazing listeners and friends for all of the posts, emails, calls, and texts of support. I'm nervous and excited to see what the future may hold for my family and me and I hope all of you will join us on that ride. I love you guys. MM

Wow! In just over a year, G105 has lost:

Weird, Creepy Jon
Kentucky Kristin (promotion to Atlanta)
Randi West (promotion to Tampa) still on G via voicetracking for a whopping 2 hours; not at all the same
Brody Smith (promotion to West Palm Beach)
Geller (moved to RDU)
Carly Laskey

Well, that's virtually the entire air-staff. Tons of talent, just gone.

Mornings used to be decent. I would actually make a point to listen to the podcast.
When Kristin left and The Showgram started playing the games that they are notorious for (voting next airstaff etc.) I got tired of it.

Further, As soon as Erica arrived, the show turned into a white-trash, clone of it's former self. Kristin had integrity. They needed to replace her with someone that could hold her own, not someone who sounds whiny, nasally and just plain WT. It reminds me of a mix between Howard Stern and Jerry Springer. And Peanut Butter?? Really?!

I miss the G105 days when the staff was family. When they had events like the Second Chance Prom and Little Black Dress Party. There's not a draw to the station anymore.

Precisely. G105 was a solid station with solid talent a year or two ago. Now they're practically in ruins.

The new night guy sounds pretty strong. Young, fun, engaging and [usually] live. But young, fun, engaging and live is what the rest of that station lacks. Randi's tracked two hours are nothing like her old personality. There's a tremendous emptiness there with the loss of Brody and the current afternoon personality just doesn't have the fit and sound for a top 40 station at all.

Mike Morse was let go during vacation, a week after doing a five-hour celebration show for Bob? What in the world is going on with WDCG?

I hate to call anyone White Trash but the show has certainly taken a trashy turn with the addition of Erica. Unfortunately, the show stopped having balance a long time ago when it stop being okay to openly challenge B-O-B when he says crazy stuff. This addition of Erica just pushed it over the top. It was definitely a mistake but Bob will likely never admit it. It's interesting that Bob made the statement in regards to Mike: "It's been a long time coming."
 
Oh, it's textbook definition White Trash. Not the funny kind it used to be.


With all of the talent getting promoted, it would be so nice if that talent got replaced by qualified candidates. I know Ms. West instilled so much into that station for over 7 years and literally the day she left, everything changed. It must've been major upper micromanagement.


Ratings? Yes they may still be decent, but don't forget G is not dumb when it comes to sliding things out as long as possible. When Randi's shift slotted to a morning two-hour, it was promoted as 105 minutes zero stops, short after, back to the same old same old. Again, I would agree it's a whole different personality than her current Tampa day-part. I've even found her inserting more VT's on Kiss1075 (KKDM)... Another story.


Anyway, these problems need to be fixed. A new, powerful station could come in and wipe out Kiss and G with one format ;)
 
I listened to some of the Showgram this morning. They were doing some kind of Family Feud thing. The first question was "What do you do when you can't fall asleep?" Bob said he had never heard of "counting sheep." The next question was about what things you put on ice cream. Most of the questions gave Bob a chance to slam his cohorts, which got old quick, like the other times I've listened lately....

I still think maybe it's time to consolidate G into Kiss (they're both basically playing the same stuff--- since Kiss tweaked its format in response to Pulse--- aside from some of the older stuff that's on Kiss) and switch G to a new format...
