99.7 KFRC which was mainly rock oldies flipped this morning to the Movin' format. They finished up with American Pie by Don Maclean and went into CC Music Factory after the flip.

Probably good move for them .... but dang it I'm tired of watching all these great stations piss themselves into the sunset. WCBS ... killer oldies station blown up for Jack with literally great talent to no talent. KZLA ... served a niche well ... blown up for Movin'. KIXI not really blown up ... but I don't listen any more because it's a "vanilla" radio station. Now heritage KFRC, though in recent years nothing like it once was, blown up for Movin. Am frustrated that (a) I can't even FIND product on the dial any more that I care about; (b) losing great stations to the "flavor of the year" format (first Jack -- and a watered-down version of the implementation I liked up in Canada; this year it's "Movin").

At least there is some awesome streaming out there...!!

This is just corporate radios way of moving (no Pun intended) us to satellite radio before it is bought by the megabroadcasters to put the crap on AM/FM radio on the satellite so they can raise the price to $50.00 a month just like cable TV!!! And then they will sell the AM/FM spectrum to the phone companies!
