I just read on Radio and Records that Mike Reeves is exiting Clear Channel Mix 100.7 for WRBQ taking over afternoon duties, do you think Mike knows somthing, Is Whoopie on here way to Tampa???

I think it's more of "I can't take this b______ anymore for 3-4 hours every morning, someone get me outta here." Sounds like a great gig for Mike and Mason probably loves nothing more than to help break off another piece of the crumbling 100.7. How much more life does this station have in it? Between Mix and The Point, someone's gotta blink soon and bail on the current format. Anyone know the status of Nancy's contract? Seems to me that may be the only thing keeping Mix contemporary for the forseable future.
Also, wasn't Mike Reeves involved with the heydays at Q105 when they were top 40?
I've heard from friends in the CC complex that Mike was happy with the show but couldn't stand working with Nancy... Nothing new there, as many successful morning teams have little love for each other... but to wake up every morning at 4:30am and know you're going to get your -- how can i say this politely -- balls chopped off every morning... Jeez man, that's why we're married! Our wives can do that to us, but our co-workers... not so much. I'm surprised Mike hung in as long as he did.

I'm glad Mike's returning "home" and w/o HER. Although, I would like to know what happened to John Kelly. I haven't heard anything other than he'll be back soon... until this week. I thought he was good afternoon talent and wish him the best.
Now if Dave Mann, Chuck Bear, Bobby Rich, etc. could come back to do middays or an occasional Dance Party or weekend shift. Then if CBS could entice Wheeler to come back... Sorry, I got caught up in the moment then remembered the current state of dysfunction of a once creative industry. Oh well, back to sleep.

OK so I've been out of radio for awhile now and have no intentions of going back into it, but since when do you have to send in a photo for an on air radio job. Is cc going to discriminate against someone who may have the perfect voice and talent for the job, but not a pretty face for someone who may not have the perfect voice and talent, but looks like Brad Pitt ??? Whatever happened to theatre of the mind?
C'mon.. you all know better. 100.7 isn't going spanish/rumba/latino/whatever. The morning show carried the station for a while but can't anymore since Nancy got fired from Fox, and CC needs more from their ac's and Mix has potential. So look for the Whoopi show soon which imho would be only a minor improvement over what is on now.
What sucks is what will CC do when Whoopi pulls a david lee roth and there's no local talent left to fill the gaps?
