Mike Sakellarides

Where is Mike Sakellarides? He's no longer listed on KGIL Retro 1260's website. What are the circumstances surrounding his disappearance from the station?

Yes, he starts at the WAVE next weekend from what I've heard. They're collecting quite a few Ex-KOST jocks aren't they? Wonder else who might be on the WAVE wish list?

This thread got me thinking. I found out that Mike Sakellarides was moving to weekends at KTWV by reading LA Radio dot com. Imagine that, all those people on that other thread last week who said the it wasn't relevant site and there it was in living color for all of his subscribers to read. Guess it's more relevant than some people thought.

No. It's still irrelevant. And you have to pay for it.

Thank you for your "opinion" Lowry, you've made your point and I and many others have made ours. Opinions vary, and really, that's all they are, opinions. Yes, you still have to pay for it because only a fool works for free unless he or she is just starting out at the bottom of the food chain. It's obvious that you find no redeeming value in Barrett's site and I'm sure those of us that do totally understand that there will always be opposing views. Perhaps you should think about starting up a free site that we can all go to for the latest info about LA's radio workers. I'd be quite interested to see what you can come up with. I mean that in all sincerity. You could show us all how it should be done. This is not a challenge, just an idea... It all starts an an idea you know... Maybe you could join forces those other guys who hate Don's site and create a better one? But that would he hard to do for free.

As for tackling the tough stuff, Barrett has gone out on a limb with his open letters to certain individuals. It also may occur to you all that GM's may not want to talk with Don Barrett about certain issues. PD's may not be allowed to talk to Don because the companies they work for may not give them permission to do so. I've worked for a few stations that would not allow talk with any kind of press unless they granted permission. They have to allow an interview to happen before any tough questions can be asked or answered. But I do think you're missing the point of his site. As I said before, it grew out of his work on his books about the people of LA radio. Any news that got delivered was gravy, Don's initial purpose was to celebrate and document those that work and have worked in radio here in Southern California.

So what about it, could you do better?
