I would have had Norman Wain, if he wanted to, take a very serious role in helping get AAR up. He's had such a voluminous record of success in the past 40 years - especially at WNCX... and... yep, the old WIXY/1260.
Yes, a top 40 station like WIXY and AAR are completely different animals. I can't deny that. But I'd rank Norman with John Gorman as two legendary programmers that literally could take any format and make it successful TODAY.
But that's, again, if he wanted the added pressure.
