Mike Vicker new weather man on 8's "Wake up Rochester"

There is a new host on "Wake Up Rochester" and he appears to be WKLX DJ Mike Vicker. I haven't heard from Mike in a while, so I am glad that he ended up on television on Channel 8!

Your post is confusing. Your headline topic says Mike Vickers is the new "weatherman" on 8's early morning show. Then you write he's a new host. Which is it; host or weatherman? And if it's the weatherman, what happened to John Stehlin?

I worked with Mike for a short time at WRMM radio. He's a decent fellow. But this news takes me by surprise considering, from what I heard, he got out of broadcasting several years ago for a more secure career as a driver for the Regional Transportation Authority. But then again broadcasting has a tendency to draw one back like a moth to the flame. Considering the recent history of Channel 8's "Wake Up Rochester", I hope Mike knows what he's getting into over there on Humboldt Street.

John Stehlin is still there. I think NewsSleuth may be either honestly mistaking him for Vickers, or humorously making a comparison between the two.
