Mike Webb GONE From KIRO (?)

I've seen the ranti--I mean, POSTS on BlatherWatch and checked in at OrbusMax and even checked the KIRO website and it does appear that Webb is no longer with the station. I'll have to confirm later that the dreaded "Name in the Subject Line" email was sent out at Entercom Seattle.

Webb's name is still listed on the pop-up menu under "Personalities" (they missed that one) but when you click on it, you're taken to a blank page with a broken image icon. And his name has been removed from the left nav list of names.

Very odd how most of those who supported the union decert are now gone from KIRO Land.

Erin Hart?!?!

Hopefully she's just filling out the sub roster until the book gets going again, but I have a funny feeling she'll be the host of "KIRO 9p-1a". They might as well fire their ratings, too. And Lou Pate's will get even worse.

The Fall of Mike Webb

Mike Webb's lawyer did his client a gross injustice by not advising him that using forged documents to pull his insurance scam was a losing proposition. Webb and his lawyer should immediately end the charade and seek a plea bargain.

Banks and Insurance companies hire experts who devote their lives to the investigation of fraud. Did Webb have so little respect for their professionalism that he thought he could fool them with his harebrained scheme?

Apparently so, given what we know about the case. But it makes one wonder how a person in his position and income range could be driving around in his Lexus (!) for 4 years without auto insurance. Isn't the insurance company supposed to notify the DOL when insurance has been dropped or not re-issued? In some states, your license is automaticaly suspended. Is that not the case in WA? I scrape by but I make SURE my insurance is paid. I HAVE to drive in order to work and support myself.

However, I can *hear* Webb claiming that someone hacked his bank account and actually believing it---and trying to build a case around it as well as his claim of the "delay" on the new insurance company delivering his proof of insurance. That kind of bluster can't stand up against black and white proof to the contrary.

If he had just told officers that he didn't have his proof of insurance with him, gotten the $400+ ticket for that, gotten his insurance, paid the fine and just paid for the repairs himself, it would have never gotten this far. ($6,000 is a bit excessive---was the Lexus totalled?)

Re: The Fall of Mike Webb

Radio Equalizer at blogspot says his accident occured _during_ his show:

"Funny enough, Webb's undoing began with the now-infamous June traffic accident that actually happened during his talk show. How is that possible?

"It was due to his astounding regular habit of leaving mid-program to get drinks and snacks at a nearby convenience store while board operators ran 10 to 15 minutes of commercial spots to fill the gaps. In the history of broadcasting, I'm not sure anyone else has been crazy enough to make personal munchie runs during a radio talk show."

But, is Mike Webb diabetic? I can understand an emergency run to get a candy bar, although with a low blood sugar, driving is not advisable. If that's the case, then it's understandable how he got into these accidents. He should have had a hired go-fer get these things for him. Or come to work with a ready-made munchie bag.

Mike was probably framed because of the patriot act......I'm sure a straight republican could get away with insurance fraud no problem.

"Geico Direct. Because 15 minutes could cost you at least 15 months on car insurance."

(Apologies to Mike Webb.)
