Mike West out at DRC-FM

Mike West, a weekend guy at DRC-FM and a long-time, talented radio-veteran, had some heart problems about two months ago and missed a few weekends. Under doctor's orders he had to take some time off to get his strength back.

The compassionate management at Buckley Broadcasting thought he needed a lot more rest so they blew him out this week.

His picture is gone from the website.

Hope Mike gets well, he is a good guy, I enjoyed listening to him growing up and loved tuning in to WDRC on weekends just to listen to him. Kind of funny for the music I would turn the volume down, but when I heard Mike come on I would turn it back up so I could hear him.

My father use to play and win Dump The Jock with Westie all the time when he was on WTIC.

I miss those days, radio seems so pure and so innocent.

I'm glad someone said that before me! It seems they've been floundering for a long time and they're probably using this as their own justification to do stupid things like this. The next step will be that they'll get green CSB students to be on-air. Just what radio needs, less personality!

Just another reason why I don't listen to them anymore!
