Mike Willis

Radio-Info says the former Fox jock might be interested in purchasing ESPN Columbia
(IF Inner City will spin off ZMJ...)

Personally, I'd love to see Mike with more of a presence in Columbia radio

According to Radio-Info's Industry News section, it sounds like this is going to happen.

Also says he is part of Lake Murray Communications. Is this the same company that owns WLXM?

I too remember him when he was at Z96 in the late 70's and early 80's, definitely one of the good guys and wish all of the success in the world.

Really good for those guys. They have been trying to make a go of WLXM on 107.9 for over a year.

I'd be concerned about the purchase price, but I am sure they have worked it out.

Here is the status of the transaction:

Inner City, as you know, is in bankruptcy. The transaction became public when they filed to ask the court permission to sell WZMJ. That is why the KBLX/Entercom transaction has become public.

The court has not given its approval, yet. Unless there is some objection, this should be a pro forma approval. Once the court orders the sale, we will see the FCC filing for official transfer of ownership.

As for the rest of the Inner City cluster, the disposition of those properties has to wait for court approval of the sale of the assets to the creditors (YMF Media, LLC) which apparently has a buyer. See my other posting, above.
