Mikey Adams- New Big Show Flash Guy

Apparently it didn't take Jason Wolfe long to start correcting one of his recent blunders. In addition to his own show, Mike is going to do the Big Show flashes from 3:00 PM on. I think it's an improvement. I know he annoys some people, buit I've always thoght he was funny. Let's see how long it takes him to do something about his mid-day snoozefest.

You don't think that was part of the plan all along with the re-tooling of the big show and they were just waiting for sox season to start?

Makes sense that they get a 40 hour work week out of Mikey anyway.

I feel like he's got more off days than ordway.

i thought the same thing about him barely working or anything!! is he gonna be like pete was and talk over the show?? if so that ruins the new format!!

in addition to his own show,
Not much on-air time during the RS season. This might actually be saving them money.

I tuned in briefly after the nyy game late night, and there was nobody taking calls.

To me it's throw a drowning man (Holley) two anchors (Ordway and Adams) to save him. The Holley/Ordway thing wasn't working so lets add more discordance into the mix.

Ordway can really only host with stooges he can talk down to and don't know anything (see the Big Show roster of cohosts).

Something was done about the snoozefest, he replaced them with the much better and much more listenable Mut and Merloni

I don't like them because they're not fat enough. If they gained weight I'd listen.

LOL

listening to mike adams trying to do stand up type jokes during the flash is cringe worthy. I know it's been said over & over, but Holley has got to be thinking 'wtf did I get myself in to'.

Am I the only one who has NEVER "gotten" Mike Adams?
I mean going back to his NECN days I just have never gotten why anyone finds him funny, entertaining or has a modicum of anything relevant to say sports related wise.
I always thought it was odd to put a guy who is not a hardcore sports talker on at night, to me people who listen to sports talk radio mid days and nights are very much hardcore fans, nights especially and for Adams to be on at night just flies in the face of that.
As boring and stiff as Sarandis was he is what I would expect in a night time show, he's going to attract those who are the very P1 listeners you would expect to be listening at night to a local show, national it's different, a local night sports show is and should be geared toward hardcore sports fans and Adams doesn't do that.
I can see trying to get more out of him with baseball season upon us because a lot of his shows will be pre-empted by the Sox so having him do flashes on the Big Show somewhat makes sense but really just do the flash, get in and get out Mike!
Shepherd was more entertaining, Grande and his "Flash boy" alter ego were hilarious, Mike Adams is no "Flash Boy" nor his he Pete Shepherd - god help me for saying that LOL!

You just made an argument for a "hardcore" host and an argument for "ted-nation" in one breath.

You realize those are polar opposites right?!?!

So you either want someone who yells and screams for no reason....or someone who is nice and tame....but god forbid we have a happy medium?!

Pick a side, any side.

Ted wasn't nice and tame... he was humorless and impatient with callers who dared to question his knowledge. And I don't miss Ray from Lynn's 20 minute wrap-ups of minor league baseball prospects. As for Mikey, a little goes a VERY long way. He's not as funny as he thinks he is. To me DA on the Hub is that happy medium.

Sorry, it was Boring and Stiff he said. Still the opposite of the "hardcore" hosts this guy wants. Ted and Hardcore don't go in the same breath was my point. I enjoyed Ted but probably fell asleep a few dozen times while listening. That's not Hardcore.

I agree, DA does a good job.

I know Mike Adams can be sophmoric and juvenile, but he's likeable. He seems like the kind of guy who you could have a beer with. I don't think I'd care to have a beer with anyone else on 'EEI or the Sports Hub. I think this is a good addition to the Big Show. The pairing of Ordway and Holley is kind of awkward and forced. Mikey adds a little goofiness which acts as a buffer. It seemed that every show was turning into a race discussion for a while. I'd really rather not listen to that.

btw Entercom is putting sports on FM in a major city, but not here (yet)...Wolf country 95.7 in SF going sports incl being A's flagship. More sports, news, talkers on FM.

Saw that. Interesting move as it was San Fran's only Country station. No SF isn't the country music capitol but neither is Boston yet it does well here.

I'd still be surprised if Entercom put WEEI on any of their FMs here as they all do relatively well from what I can tell. But over time as people continue to show that they'll listen to talk, sports, news, etc on FM it'll become more likely.

Hey maybe they can make good use of 96.9 if they bought it ;)

Then they get FM sports AND they block howie from going there once again.

Weird, the RAMP blast said they were the only country there I thought...apparently there is still another.

But yeah, neither were doing well.

It's a no brainer to pull a station getting a 1 share when you can get two pro teams play by play to anchor the station.

I still don't see why they do it here with AAF and Mike doing well enough.
