I was wondering something...In the past, Mike's "habits" almost killed his radio chances..not showing up, and being late, etc...

He turned it around and got the night gig and has done well and is great to listen to. But lately there's been alot of jabs at him almost like he's headed back in that direction, does anyone think he is?

Bring back "The House God"( L. J. ) on Saturday mornings. I Dont want to hear Dumb Mike Joke's everyday of the week . Mustard and Johnson Rule ( Not a porno film )!

Mike Adams is not going to make the same mistakes again. Older, wiser, he is going to keep the flow of cash into his bank account.

Johnson was on Saturday, minus Mustard. I wonder if managment decided that with the Sox clinching the previous evening, did they really want to have nyy-talk on, all afternoon?

Rather than tell Craig not to report, they should have told him to come in but put y-talk to rest permanently, or don't bother coming back again.

maybe their research determined that one show featuring Yankee talk brought in ratings--there are Yankees fans out there and others like to be outraged by it. I just turn it off. LJ is bad enough but Mike from Canton, et al are excruciating

You are a trip!

Spend all your time tearing down those who do the gigs you don't have. Between Scotto, Howie, Feinburg, DePetro...the list goes on until we now come to Mikey.

You're not happy unless you're slinging mud at someone.

The guy made his mistakes. Now, he takes a day off and he's relapsed?

You have less than zero class.

When was the Putrid Preacher on? The Baseball Show was on until noon and then B.C. football. Whenever it was, I'm glad that I missed it. I can't stand either Mustard or Johnson, but of the two, at least Mustard doesn't sound like an uneducated dolt.
Their show attracts the absolute dregs of the callers..........not just the Yankee fans either. I really wish that there was a real sports talk show on Saturdays, especially during baseball season.

I can't understand why Larry Johnson is on the radio. How does this happen? No voice, no sports expertise, not funny, phony minister, phony (tracer) cartoonist. Virually everyone I've ever heard on the radio has something to offer, the least talented don't seem to hang around for long. This bozo has been on for over ten years. I thought radio was a cutthroat industry and that only the strong survived What does he have on the folks at Entercom?

Speaking of Mike Adams, I still prefer him to the humorless ghoul he replaced. By the way, everytime Mike does a crossover with the Big Show and LJ is on, LJ always makes some crack about Mike and the car wash. I guess that must be the Christian way.

... his approval of hockey fighting and calling Mustard a wimp because Craig doesn't approve is also very christian. Incidentally, my 7 year old nephew could draw better cartoons than LJ.

My wife picked up his book, "Hi honey I'm home" at a yard sale. Talk about crap....I've seen better cartoons on my refrigerator door. It was supposed to be a day-by-day chronicle of events in Red Sox history. The first few that I read didn't seem quite right, so I looked up a couple of them.......they were incorrect, and I wasn't surprised.

IMO the whole media cabal is very incestuous. Newspaper people have a 'right' to be radio hosts. Newspaper people have a 'right' to have TV shows. TV people have a 'right' to be radio hosts.

What you have in common are people from dying businesses trying to latch onto relatively healthy ones.

But the incestuousness of it all is why someone like Johnson can hang around...and around...and around. Or why someone like Bob Ryan 'gets' his own TV show. Or why Butch Stearns from Fox 25 magically appears on WEEIs 'Big Show' as a co-host. Or why Bob Neumeier can just 'expect' to have things thrown his way like sugar plums. Or why someone named 'Felger' gets a massive case of 'swelled ego' thanks to an over-exposure (all over the media map) of his minimal talent. Once you're 'in the biz' the world is your oyster...whether you're good or not. And because these people are part of a business where they get to actually write the press clippings that they later start believing in, the swelled heads swell further.

But the BIG payoff is getting to attend sports events and pigging out for free by dangling a swell 'media credential' from their necks or belt straps.

I can see why the Connecticut School of Broadcasting does so well.

The Big Show and Mikey crossover was just brought up...and it made me think (uh-oh) They never had one with the humorless ghoul (I had to steal that, it's priceless) Ordway finshed up around 6:15 or so, and HG didn't come on until 7. Now Mikey starts at 6, and there's a crossover.

Am I reading too much into this, or is (possibly) one of the reasons they didn't have one before is that so they didn't have to see or speak to each other?

seriously, I'd rather have my fingernails removed than listen to the Humorless Ghoul. Talk about having stick up... well, you know where...

I understand the incestuous media relationships, but I don't understand how that applies to Larry Johnson. As far as I can tell, he was a cartoonist (and not a very good one) for the Globe a long time ago. He left to go to a paper that went belly-up within a short time and was never asked to return. He did cartoons for Sports Illustrated, but was let go when the tracing became too obvious.

By the way, I completely agree with your opinion of Felger. I was happy when he went to ESPN. I couldn't stand him when he was on the Big Show.

when Johnson is on the Big Show, Felger is a welcome alternative and he has solid guests/co-hosts... Peter Gammons for one. And he isn't a complete Pats rumpswab like the WEEI people. I love the Patriots but the love-in gets a bit ridiculous after awhile.
