There's been some controversy among 91X listeners in on-air announcements prompting them "not to listen to the Mikeython." However, this year, the Mikeython is funding Autism research and a few listeners are expressing their rage on 91X on Twitter.

Did 91X really go too far?
 
Why is the Mikey Show even on the air? FM 94-9's latest rating dropped again to a 1.4!! That's a very strong stick (on Soledad I believe...) to be pulling in those numbers.

Wow, I looked at some facebook pages including 91X and 91X is getting a lot of heat even from non-Christian 91X fans who don't like Mickey.
 
Why would anyone call attention to the competition, especially by suggesting they not listen to a broadcast intended to raise funds for a good cause? Whose brain was on drugs when they came up with that?

I believe that the programming person for 91X is one Mr. Tracy Johnson. The man who killed B-100 for Star 100.7 then once Star was going gang busters killed it for the lower rated Jack format so he could fire all of the DJs. Then was promoted to Programming person for all LMA stations.

Oh that's right - they hired him back in February, "to provide Group Brand Manager services to LMSD (Local Media San Diego)"

If he's trying to reestablish 91X as an edgy brand, then this will help for sure. Nothing energizes your fans like getting the opposition to hate you.
