Millennium Radio News question

mondoradio said:
As far as the news on Millenium goes, it's not great, but it's not bad either. With the state of local news around the country, we're probably lucky to get anything that passes for local news these days...even if a large part of it is regional news on a statewide network out of Trenton.

Mondo, there's more local news out there than you think there is. If it's happening in Ocean County and it's worthy of note, it will be in at least two of the seven newscasts I do every weekday morning. And I'm sure that the fine newspeople at the other stations throughout the state, which have an even greater news heritage than that of my station, have a similar pride of place and strive to give listeners information on the topics important and relevant to them.

We may be doing it with fewer resources than we used to have, but we're still busting our butts to do it right.

Anita

I agree Anita. I wasn't putting down the job that you, or the other local news people are doing, just commenting on the lack of resources available to local news these days. I applaud you, the folks at the Breeze, and anyone else who is doing live and local news under increasingly difficult circumstances.

Millennium Radio news is boring because it's the same crappy stories different day. Corzine's super secret e-mails, Corzine's super secret toll plan blah blah blah and with Eric Scott making stupid mistakes it's just blah.

This is what happens to ratings when your star talent goes to NY leaving the losers behind. Cartons last day at Millennium 101.5 was August 9 then Kermit took over.

So, you're basing Casey's "bad" ratings on 22 days? Remember, 2 months of that summer book were Carton's. You won't know till January the real effect of Carton leaving.

If you see just the August ratings for 101.5 they are as terrible as Kermits show.

Kyle, I mean Craig all you do on this board is bash Casey and worry about all the Mary Walter posters. Give it a rest.

I can assure you that KyleJ is neither Craig nor Mary. Probably just a misguided Jersey Guy fan.

Who is Mary Walter ? Glad you asked. She was the goddess of evenings at 101.5 until a real newsroom Fox news begged her to fill in there on Fox radio. Too bad for 101.5 Dina Blizzard didn't last long in that slot and the current lady Michelle is unlistenable. Mary was the best in that timeslot and that's her legacy.

Ask anyone on the street what or who Millennium radio news is and most wouldn't know or care. How stupid does Eric Scott sound having to say Corzine's SUPER SECRET plan while a majority of NJ residents approve of the job Corzines doing. Either NJ doesn't care what Eric Scott is saying or they aren't listening to him or Millennium news. Could be both.

the goddess of evenings?? are you f**king kidding me? that's a bit much, don't ya think?

To Kyle J, and the whole Craig Carton going to "The Fan"- GET OVER IT! I enjoy listening to Millenium Radio News in the morning. I am up at that time delivering newspapers, and it is the best way for me to keep up on what is going on in New Jersey. Alan Kasper's forecasts are usually dead-on. Besides, they win awards on a daily basis.

The other reason why I like their news is because they give you the who, what, when, where, and why- and NO SPIN! (Imagine that.)

To Mr. Scott and his news department- keep up the good work!

Since you addressed me I'll respond. Millennium radio news is a waste in the AM. I listen to the place to be in the morning Craig Carton and Boomer on 66 WFAN AM 6-10 AM Mon -Fri. As far as Alan Kasper goes the weather channel forecasts are just as good. Even Kermit from the Kermit and Rossi show when I tuned in for traffic just after 2 PM today was making fun of weatherman Alan Kasper's forecast. Kermit was asking "I thought it was supposed to rain all day today" ? Either Kermit is an blooming idiot or Alan Kasper got it wrong. Why have a weatherman if hosts like Kermit are going to point out that the forecast is wrong.

Kevin Williams is a sports nobody. Why would anyone who's into sports listen to a nobody like Kevin Williams when they can listen to Carton and Boomer in the morning on 66 WFAN. Males in their 30's don't want to hear losers like news snoozer Eric Scott sports nobody Kevin Williams or old fossils who sound like they're 90 years old like Jim Gearhart talking about the same stuff every single day.
