Miller at KDKA

Former WPTF PD & morning host Kevin Miller is the new
12-3pm host at KDKA in Pittsburgh.

KDKA goes from being the oldest station in the US, to the____________!
(fill in the blank for comedy fun!)

PREDICTION:

He will not last a year.

May 1 of next year; he will not be at KDKA and it won't be his choice.

I dont understand how this guy gets any jobs in radio, period. He's just awful.

This is not a commentary on his on-air work or style, but I can answer your question.

He packages himself well! He goes after publicity, he speaks with conviction (whether right or not), and he gets noticed. Saw him on Fox News Channel the other day. They love radio guys.

I'll never forget a post someone either made on this board or on NCRADIO.net a couple of years ago. Miller had the "brash" on air style, and that sums him up exactly. WPTF is a heritage station that didn't fit Miller's style. He was constantly rushing through the Farmer's Market segment with Ronnie Best early in the mornings and was terse with callers and his newspeople and producer, which was obvious listening. And the "early morning rewind" from 5:40 to 6am was the pits. I don't think people wanted to hear interviews with Nancy Grace from 3 weeks ago, people want today's news, weather, sports and traffic, with a little personality mixed in. I don't miss Miller at WPTF and don't know many people that do. ;D
