Milwaukee Brewers on WEKZ

Looks like WEKZ in Monroe has dropped Brewer baseball along with WTJK in South Beloit. Any other stations that are no longer carrying the games?

The better question would be, why would anyone want to carry the Brewers with WTMJ's big stick booming into your market anyway. Besides, its a tough sell. Been there, tried that.

Plus, the Brewers on field product is mediocre at best. Bad combo. The only station around the Stateline area that carries the Brew Crew is WCLO in Janesville. Otherwise, the network is slacking.

1050 WLIP Kenosha dumped Brewers around 1997. Doesn't matter at all since WTMJ covers the area very well.

WHBL up here in Sheboygan also dropped the Brewers a few years back. You could argue that at times WTMJ is easier to pick up in Sheboygan than HBL(which it is), but HBL still carries the Packers faithfully.
IMHO selling air time for a team that cosistantly finishes under 500 every year is a tough sell. Unlike the Packers, the Brewers do not have that loyal of a fan base.
I remember back in the late 70s and early 80s when they were in pennant races every year, stations were jumping on the bandwagon left and right. Watch the Brewers have a few winning seasons.... same thing will happen.
Just remembered WHBL picked up the Brewers in 80 or 81 after they moved their flagship from WTMJ to WISN....Wisn's signal ain't that strong(especially at night). That may be when a lot of other stations picked up the Brewers....
