The prank caller project on Kirk Minihane's podcast is worth a listen.

They're trying to get a prank call in to stations in each of the 50 states.
 
Another reason for radio stations to avoid putting live callers on the air.

Ten second delay with dump button, and the prank is useless.
 
Well, I guess the definition of insanity is trying the same old tired crap and expecting a different result, so diagnosis confirmed, I guess?
 
I wasn't digging Kirk's podcast at the beginning, but now with his Bob Murchinson battle taking off he's seemed to have found his groove. Some of the prank call stuff is pretty decent, and not in the wacky ZOINKS style of terrestial radio.

Has he tried plumbing the lowest depths of his audience's intellect by reporting the death of the mayor yet? (Done first by another Boston talk act who didn't hit their lowest-common-denominator stride until hitting NYC.)
