Minimum Fidelity (for voice)?

IIRC, an (in)famous listening test by RCA concluded that the radio listening public didn't want frequency response above about ~5kHz (or cps at the time).

Various audio codecs use tricks to fake some treble (SBR for example), I'm not aware of any (recent) controlled listening tests to find out what the minimum bandwidth is for intelligible voices (might not be flat, perhaps a boost in the upper midrange would help).
