Wow, KTIS with a 10.3? Clearly there is a bigger fan base for this music than I thought, I wonder what their secret is.

KQ seems to be rebounding recently, while Love is on the decline (wonder how much longer they'll stick with the format?)

Unlike some markets, the HD2 of Pride Radio on 101.3 isn't showing up in the ratings.

It appears that as of very recently the HD2s, HD3s etc. of 93.7, 97.1 and 101.3 are off the air.

Cities 97 is still holding its own at a 4.1 after all these years. Not personally a fan but this is indeed a unique Modern AC format. Nothing quite like it exists anywhere.

There is TV antenna work being on at the Shoreview site. Most, if not all, FMs do not have HD service at their backup locations. The IDS site, (or whatever the name is now) charges extra for HD signals.

What do you think is the reason why KSTP-FM has such strong ratings
They really emphasized "local" for a long time. I know that doesn't always work everywhere, but here it does (or at least did, and they are still feeling the effects of that investment. It's like "the good neighbor" gone FM.

The other thing they did that worked well for them is not only a strong personality driven and local morning show, but a strong personality driven afternoon show. I believe they were one of the last stations in the Twin Cities to be live and local 24/7 (and are still live and local 18/5). It's another reason why KTIS and their stations do better than KLOVE here is because they are live and local. Both stations are also everywhere in the community, so I think people look at the brands more as "friends". (Seriously, I think radio executives ignore that draw here, I even remember going to the State Fair a few years ago, and the stations that were voice tracked were basically deserted, but the ones that had announcers in the booth were very crowded, I'd go to Kool 108 or Jack and it'd be a ghost town while KQ and KS95 were really busy).

What do you think is the reason why KSTP-FM has such strong ratings
They spend millions in marketing. Hubbard is the only commercial station group with any visible marketing. They also run reduced spot loads compared to the over-leveraged iHeart, Cumulus and Audacy stations. KS95 gets to play a different game, and more power to them.

I think the better question is why is KEEY back in the top 2-3 in those demos? Really heavy spotload, no marketing.
