Misc Ramblings

NE North Carolina. Heard this week on car radio. 8 AM EST 1 1/2 hour after local sunrise was 1550 CBE, Windsor, Ontario. Web search says they will soon join others in shutting down AM station. Might want to get this one soon.

Also this week The Mighty 1630 KCJJ Your home for high school sports. Iowa City, Iowa. They should have been on night power as I logged them at 7:20 PM EST, 6:20 in Iowa City. Power change on Feb 28 should have been 5:45 CST.

Also hearing Michael Savage on 1630 after 7 PM. WRDW says they have sports, KKDW is music. Not sure who it was.

Have fun. -Bill

Heard 1630 KCJJ this morning driving to work. Captain something playing Gary "US" Bonds at 7:20 AM. Should be an easy catch for most of the East Coast. -Bill

That would be Captain Steve (Bridges)....pretty sure he still owns the place. A rather unique individual.

And yes, ever since KCJJ moved from 1560 to 1630 in the early days of the X band, they've been known for getting out really well on night power. I've managed to hear them on both coasts....or "all three" if we want to count Gulf.

I've been listening to "Captain" Steve since the 90s. He indeed does a unique morning show.
